On a crisp and chilly autumn evening or day, there is truly nothing more enchanting than crafting a captivating and aromatic simmering pot, allowing the fragrant embrace of herbs, spices, and fruits to envelop your home. As you savor the warmth it brings, you’ll find yourself transported to a realm of pure coziness and magic, where every scent and sensation is a symphony of comfort and delight.

There’s something undeniably enchanting about simmer pots. They fill your home with delightful scents, infuse the air with warmth, and create an atmosphere that feels like a comforting hug. In this personal and inviting guide, I’ll show you how to create your very own simmer pot. It’s an easy, fun, and aromatic journey that will leave your home smelling like a haven of coziness and well-being.

What You’ll Need

Let’s gather our supplies for this aromatic adventure:

A Pot: Choose a pot that’s safe for stovetop use. It could be your favorite saucepan or a dedicated simmer pot.

Water: You’ll need enough to fill your pot about two-thirds full.

Aromatics: This is where the magic happens! Raid your spice rack and pantry for aromatic treasures like cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, star anise, and nutmeg. Fresh herbs like rosemary and thyme work wonders too. Don’t forget citrus slices, like orange or lemon, for a burst of freshness and bay leaves ß so you could write down some intentions and add some magic to your simmer pot.

Essential Oils (Optional): For an extra aromatic punch, consider a drop or two of your favorite essential oil. Lavender, eucalyptus, sage or citrus oils work wonderfully.

– Bay Leaves: Take as many as you wish. You’ll need bay leaves to write down your intentions and manifesting whatever you wish for to life. Please, keep in mind, that usually one bay leaf is used for one intention, so if you have a few wishes you’d like to manifest, take more bay leaves than one.

– Heat Source: You’ll need a stovetop or a hot plate.

Let’s Get Simmering

  1. Gather ‘Round: Start by gathering your ingredients and inviting the family or friends to join in on the fun. Or do it yourself and do it magically – add some intentions into the simmer pot, write down some things you want to attract to your life on bay leaves and let it manifest into reality. It’s definitely up to you – if it’s going to be a fun family tradition to create an amazingly smelling simmer pot or to allow your inner Goddess and inner witch to take over and make it super magical.
  2. Water, Please: Fill your pot about two-thirds full with water. Place it on your stovetop or hot plate.
  3. Aromatic Alchemy: This is where your creativity shines! Toss in your chosen aromatics. Think cinnamon sticks, cloves, a few slices of citrus, and maybe a sprig of rosemary or a star anise. Don’t be shy—experimentation is part of the fun.
  1. Heat It Up: Turn on your stovetop or hot plate to the lowest setting. You want the water to gently simmer, not boil away too quickly. As the water warms up, the aromatics will release their fragrant goodness into the air.
  1. Essential Elevation (Optional): If you’re using essential oils, add just a drop or two once the water is warm, not boiling. The heat will disperse the scent throughout the room.
  1. Bay Leaves Magic (Optional): If you’re using bay leaves for manifestation, now’s the time to write down whatever you wish to attract into your life on bay leaves and add them into the simmer pot. You can stir the simmering pot clockwise for as long as you feel called to and put some word magic into it, by saying what you wish to manifest out loud or repeating it in your head.
  1. Enjoy and Replenish: Now, kick back and let the simmer pot work its magic. The scents will envelop your space, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Keep an eye on the water level, and add more as needed to prevent it from drying out.
  1. Experiment and Adapt: Simmer pots are highly adaptable. As the seasons change, so can your aromatic concoctions. Try citrus and herbs in spring, cinnamon and cloves in winter, or whatever tickles your fancy!

Creating your own simmer pot is a delightful, aromatic adventure that can infuse your home with warmth and coziness. It’s a wonderful way to welcome guests, unwind after a long day, or simply savor the beauty of everyday life.

So, gather your favorite aromatics, invite your loved ones or invite yourself into the magical witchy experience, and let the scents of your simmer pot transport you to a world of comfort and well-being. Enjoy this aromatic journey, and may your home always be filled with the inviting embrace of simmering scents and magical moments.
